Jeff Atnip is a native of the great state of Tennessee, but he enjoys painting wherever his travels take him. Jeff paints plein-aire (on location) whenever he can, but also enjoys studio painting where he can carefully compose a design from reference photos and sketches.
Statement from the artist:
I am inspired by the rural landscapes of the South wherever I find them. I strive for an unsentimental portrait of what I find around me in my travels and close-to-home wanderings. A successful painting for me is one that evokes within the viewer some of the same feelings that I felt when I sat and painted the scene. I give thanks to God for giving me this opportunity. God has provided both the talent and the source material for what I do.
